Chanel jacket eye-candy (part 1) – Para “babar” e inspirar-se: jaquetas Chanel (parte 1)

EN Summary: Not so long ago, when I started researching for my Chanel inspired jackets, I found a web shop selling pre-owned, as new and gently experienced Chanel garments, along with bags, shoes and other accessories (ChanelJackets ‘dot’ com). The best thing about this website is their detailed garment photos; I often find myself perusing through the jackets, seeking for inspiration. I selected a few that feature details which immediately caught my eye (I believe they are Chanel RTW and not Couture). Continue reading to find out about the first two jackets in my selection!

EN: What attracted me the most about this lovely coral fringed tweed jacket was the collar and it’s not that hard to copy in my opinion.

---

EN: Also note the beautiful tweed and the perfectly matched buttons:

---

EN: The buttonholes are handworked (or at least they seem so to me!) and the fringe along the cuffs matches the collar and the pocket’s edging:

---

EN: The jacket doesn’t appear to be quilted and the weight chain seems too light, added just for decorative purposes:

---

PT: Não me parece que esta jaqueta seja acolchoada, e a corrente também me parece fininha demais para ter uma função além da decorativa:

EN: This black and silver metallic braid-trim boucle jacket is from the 2009 Fall/Winter runaway collection. According to the website information, “it is impeccably tailored with the unique multi-panel construction (…) features a classic peaked collar, button & loop front closure, lower front flap-style pockets and bracelet length raglan sleeves. The jacket is fully lined in stretch silk for ease of movement and finished with a weighted hem chain for perfect drape”.

---

EN: What caught my eye were the raglan sleeves, the collar shape and the front closure, all very classic and timeless, and so Chanel.

---

EN: Look how beautiful the jacket back is and how the metallic trim was used to enhance the jacket’s style lines in a non overwhelming way:

---

These are truely lovely jackets. They appear to be more fitted than the jackets Chanel originally introduced. Did you find this in your research? BTW your black Chanel jacket is perfection! Karen

SewingKm: Thank you, and yes, I came across this website while researching Chanel jackets in general. These are more contemporary, I believe by Karl Lagerfeld and I also think they are RTW and not Couture. Unlike the traditional vintage Chanel jackets these are indeed more fitted. Nevertheless they are a good source of inspiration IMO. The collars, pocket placement, closures and fabrics used are really inspiring.
